CPE Annual Renewal
Pricing:
$50 Member renewal fee
$450 non-member renewal fee
A minimum of 24 Professional Development Units (PDUs) must be earned and logged in your PDU Journal within the calendar year. PDU journal entries require back-up documentation.
CPE credential holders are required to complete the renewal application from within their ASPE online profile.

CPE Renewal
All credentialed CPE individuals must renew their certification annually. There are three steps in which to accomplish the renewal process. All renewals must be completed before December 31st.
- Log 24 Professional Development Units (PDUs)
*PDU entries are reviewed/approved within 10 business days - Complete the renewal application
- Pay the renewal fees
FCPE Renewal
As a Fellow CPE (FCPE), you are required to complete your annual renewal application, with a deadline of December 31st. FCPEs are not required to log PDUs. If you have Lifetime status, you are exempt from the renewal process.

This document is your guide to what constitutes a Professional Development Unit (PDU), what category, and what value you may log within your PDU journal.

CPE, Lifetime Status
A CPE who has maintained continuous/non-interrupted ASPE membership and CPE status for 15 years may apply for CPE Lifetime status.
• Pay one-time fee – $750
• After earning Lifetime status, ASPE membership must remain current
• PDU requirements are not needed to maintain Lifetime status
• No annual certification renewal fees are required after earning Lifetime status
CPE Reactivation
This is a one-time-only process in which a former CPE may apply for reactivation. An application and appropriate fees must be submitted within two years of the last cycle’s end date.
- Only through majority approval of the current National Certification Committee (NCC) may any individual’s CPE certification become reactivated
- Reactivation does not require the submission of PDUs to begin the process; however, PDU submission is encouraged
- Upon reactivation, current CPE requirements must be met
- Reactivation Fees: $1,500
